New graduate on K-1 Visa

I just graduated from college (RN) and just recently came to the US via K-1 visa (fiancee). I have not taken the local board exam in Philippines. I'm currently living in California and would like to know what steps i need to take to become eligible for NCLEX. Thanks in advance.

Hi!
Same visa you had! What i did was i wrote to California Board of Nursing, they sent me a packet where there are papers you need to send to your Phil. School, like the Request for a Transcript, etc. to be send directly to them. This will take awhile so as soon as you got this packet and filled up, let somebody in the Phil. to make a follow up in your school so the process will be faster.

Yes you can. I'm actually still waiting for the result of the june 11-12 result. And also will be taking nclex this sept regardless of the local NLE outcome. There are US states that does not require a graduate to be licensed in her/his home country. Try New MExico, New York, California.

yeah if you are under a k-1 visa you really don't need the local board exam.

even if you're not under a k-1 visa, like me, you can still take NCLEX without the local board exam or local license. That is true for New mexico, california.

And for most other states in the US. That you need a local license is strictly a myth continued by many agencies in Manila. The local license is required to take the CGFNS exam, and again, that is only required by a few states, not all.
