i think bank drafts are used for such payments... go to a bank and have your payment (in dollars) be made into a bank draft/cheque.. but different banks have different policies (e.g. you have to have an account in their bank)

the payment is done thru US bank draft payable to the BON of the state where you applied for licensure. just have an inquiry of the nearest bank at your place that offer it like in PNB but you need to have an active account with them to be eligible for it.

There are some companies which can assist with bank drafts for this purpose if you do not have a bank account with a bank which will facilitate the draft. Make sure they are not overcharging you though for the processing and securing of the bank draft using their account. I think the right rate is around $35 US. Also, make sure that you get the draft ID from the bank and some form of tracking from the handling so that you can see where it goes. Be attentive because BON in the USA unfortunately loose many bank drafts from overseas.

Thank you very much for the reply. I went to BDO and asked them about bank draft. Is it the same as demand draft?

Yes, a Demand Draft at BDO is the same as a Bank Draft in the USA.
You may also want to check with Metrobank, I think the rates there are lower... but you may have to hold an account... not sure.

yup, best option is arrange with a local bank a check payable to (in my case) state board of new york and cgfns for their credential validation service.

but it is best and a lot faster if you'll facilitate it with a relative lending you her card.

you get instant confirmation from cgfns (CVS service)

plus correspondence with them online is efficient, which you need since applying for NY takes time to process.

I think you can also pay by money order instead of a check, try going to any Western Union branch connected to a bank, which is really easier to pay there and buy a money order check.
Or if somebody who has a credit card (mastercard or Visa), you can use that while paying him the amount paid from his/her card. This is more convenient and fast, (only if you are rushing to the NCLEX testsdates)...by the way, where are you going to take your NCLEX in Saipan or HK?

Hope this may help answers your query...

Money Order Checks are only accepted if drawn on a US bank.
This has been a problem for many nurses here in the Philippines.
Western Union may be a US company but here in the Philippines the money order issued is from a Philippine based bank and therefore not accepted as payment.

Also, while you may save $150 by testing in Saipan or Guam instead of Manila, make sure the airfare and lodging will be worth it.
I usually suggest that if possible the nurse could couple the NCLEX testing with a visit to family in the States.
