Nclex and Work?

Hi, I am currently waiting for my eligibilty and i think in a month or so it will be coming..I wonder if it's advisable if i'll start applying already thinking that it's difficult to ask for a leave if i'll be taking my nclex exam already in case i'll be hired...What do you think about this? I need some advise. Thanks.

it really depends on your time table... if you are a person who follows a day to day schedule (time when to review while you are working), then it may not be a problem.. its a matter of how focused and responsible you are while reviewing... coupled with determination and faith that u will pass nclex also.. know the right materials to use..

hi sunmoonlight...review isn't a problem coz I had been reviewing..what makes me think of is about the permission to ask for a leave during the date of exam. Since i'll be newly hired, i don't know if institutions allows us to leave for the exam.

hi sunmoonlight! thanks for the reply. I think, time for review is not a problem since i've been reviewing. My only problem is if i'll be allowed to leave from work if the date of exam arrives when i'm newly hired. Do you think institutions allows newly hired nurses to ask for a leave? thanks

I think you will be ok as long as you know how to discipline your self with regards to your study time. I took my NCLEX last April, I only had 8 days annual leave prior to my test, and because i am a permanent night, I always make sure that I have 2 hours of reading or answering questions everyday, either before going to work or after work. I only did self-review thats why it was a bit difficult but i managed to pass the board. So just read and review everyday and if your are not very busy at work, do some readings. Kaplan books are very good, they will teach you the technique on answering questions. so good luck!

Don't get me wrong, I just want to clarify it.
Is it true that CGFNS-CES is already needed in Vermont?
Did you file CGFNS-CES?
