medical exam for basic life support


hi, i have enrolled in the bls training of red cross. one of the requirements state that one should have a medical exam. do you have to pay for a separate medical exam for bls training in red cross or red cross provides this? what exactly is their medical exam (urinalysis, fecalysis, xray, etc.?

I'm not sure how it goes these days, but last year, there were no labs, just the routine physical assessment. They just want to make sure that you're fit to undergo the training, lift weights, not pregnant etc. You may want to call your local red cross chapter if they have a medical doctor on duty, because sometimes their in house doctor can provide you with the medical certificate.

i had my bls redcross training with the quezon city chapter. paid P50 for the medical exam where i registered for the training. the medical exam only includes BP taking and medical history interview.
