That is my point exactly. You are going to see very few, and the other issue is that unless the student is already a US citizen or holds a US passport, they cannot get a visa to work in the US with just the LPN after their name. And since it is a new program with their distance learning, it is going to take longer to get approval to even sit for the NCLEX exam, as well as the program may not be accepted by all states for licensure.

Personally, I would never ever consider that program if you are planning to work in the US and go on with your studies. Just not worth wasting your time when you cannot get a guarantee that it will be accepted by the BON. It is a new program with the distance learning, and that is not accepted in the US in many states, even if the program were actually in the US.

I graduated last February 2009 in KRC School of Practical Nursing, Inc., 2/F Guadalupe Commercial Complex, Guadalupe, Makati City, Philippines owned by Ric Ilangan. This school is registered in TESDA, but not with CHED because they are not a college or university.

My entire experience and training in KRC are good... their professors are local board passers (at least) but they are now required by the school to pass the NCLEX.. We had our rigid hospital training in different hospitals and homecare institutions here in the Philippines.

There are a lot of KRC in the Philippines.. some are claiming that they are the original KRC but they are not registered in TESDA. But my school which is located in GCC Guadalupe Makati is the best practical nursing school.

The desire to become a nurse is understandable and admirable. However, to spend money for an education program:
a. that will not lead to licensure in home country
b. will not be recognized for immigration to another country
c. a glut of Registered Nurses who are unable to find employment and are accepting volunteer positions to have experience beyond basic program
d. no positions for LPN in Philippine health care system

doesn't make economic sense to me.

Ok lets admit that Practical Nursing is not yet recognized here in the Philippines, however, let me ask you to inquire in Kidney Center and East Ave Hospital if they have an employees that are graduates of KRC.. i knew a friend (a graduate of KRC) that is now working in Kidney Center...

Here in PGH, Nursing Assistants are required to be Registered Midwives. It has been like this for years already.

My sister is doing this program and you're basically on your own when it comes to the modules. If you're a good researcher, then this course will be easy for you as the books they give doesn't hold much info. You have to research everything yourself. The tests are pretty much open book so that's a plus. This is a really easy course if you have self-discipline and keep up with your studies.

ADMIN NOTE:

Please do your research on this program. There is NO licensing exam in the Philippines for vocational nursing. School is not accredited by any nursing organization. LPN level of education does not qualify for US immigration purposes (Must have BSN if in Philippines as that's your country's minimum standard).
Those in US who attend this program will find most state boards of nursing require that one attend a state approved of nursing program meeting minimal # clinical hours therefore unable to take NCLEX examination.

Please do not spend money on a program that will not provide you with ability to work as practical nurse upon graduation ---especially when one sees that RN jobs scarce in Philippines and new grads in US in many areas unable to find positions due to recession.

Link to each state's Boards of Nursing found bottom of every page at allnurses. Look at licensing application or nursing regulations to see requirements for your state interested in working.
