incident during the Nclex exam in HK

I just took the exam this Aug. 17,2007 and prior entering the testing room, I emptied my pocket. Little did I know that a little aluminum stick was left in my back pocket. I know it was careless of me. Unfortunately upon seating down, the examiner saw it and said to put it in the locker firsr. Take note that the exam have not started yet. They told me they will notify NCSBN/ BON OF CA about the incident. I am so scared if this will affect the result of my examintaion. I stopped at 75! has anyone ever had similar experience? I am at witts end. Should I call the NCSBN/ BON or not? thanks

You'll just have to wait. They already reported it, anyway.

You said "upon sitting down" .. so you are already in the examination room premises when the proctor saw it. They do have the right to make an incident report, esp. since all examiners are all duly reminded to empty everything and put it in the locker room before entering the examination room premises.

Did they confiscate the artifact or returned it to you? Not much you can do now but just wait. If you'll call the NCSBN or the BON, the one answering your call may not know the case because this is handled by someone else. In my opinion, it's better to wait for them to contact you instead and then you can explain if they will be asking for an explanation.

Definitely wait, do not contact them. Official word will come from CA BRN, it does not come from the Board that handles the exam.

They are very strict on this rule, and they did tell you ahead of time. Be happy that they spotted it before you started the exam, or it would have been a definite cancellation of your results.

Each BON can make their own recommendations on this. And was there anything written on that piece of paper, or was it just a gum wrapper? That will be one deciding factor in things as well.

My friend who took the exam in HK last year forgot to empty his hotel card key. The person in-charge discovered this, i think, just before the exam started. He waited and waited; but he was not contacted regarding this incident. He was really worried for weeks. But he passed.

Don't forget to sign-in you passport as well and sign with your usual or regular signature. Some print their full name on it and then provide their usual signature beside or above the printed name to be safe. They are also strict on that. They do not allow applicants to sign-in on their passports on the testing sites.

Also doesn't matter where you take it, the country, the conditions are the same. As a business they have to be strict otherwise they will loose the contract and probably a lot of money
