Re: importance of grades
Let me share a story from our reviewer. He said that he once one of those slow learner students until one day, a teacher pat him and said, "very good E." Then after that.... well the rest is history. TO make the story short, his one of the smartest people I know.
Culture can be unlearned and relearned. Its a matter of how you carry on with your life. I once have a 3 in anatomy. The lowest grade I have ever had in my life. ALmost failed that subject and repeat the subject after a year. But NO! I wont let that to happen. I was in 2nd year then. FOr the first time in my college life, I studied late. Around 2am I guess. I had my first taste of coffee. hahaha.... What do you know... I passed!
We all make mistakes. The marks of your grade will stay there forever... The important thing is that your learning.
I was told in our unit that a nurse AWOL. She was very intelligent, they say. But her brain did not carry the pressure the unit is giving her. WIth lack of nurses back then and the ratio of patient. There are also people who are not that good when it comes to lecture or room set-up, but when they're on the field, the are remarkable.
We should balance this things, but there are people who have less of the one. That should not decrese their confidence, but the opportunity to know their weaknesses and improved!
