im really confused right now if i should take the june board exam... just want to seek advice before i decide... it would really mean a lot. thank u very much.

you dont need to be confused you just need to evaluate things on your advantage if NOT or TAKING the june board....it depends on the ff:
1. If your country of choice needs CGFNS = (VISA)then you should take the NLE as the pre-required docu . if not why bother to take it at all. take NCLEX (look for state that require only NCLEX)
2. if you aim is to save...THINK TWICE...go invest in reviewing for the NCLEX.
3. but if you love so much our native country....take NLE and be a PHILRN
4. if you really..really want to have a phil license...go ahead start reviewing.

Sorry but very wrong information. The US government does not require the NLE. Visa Screen Certificate does not require the NLE.

CGFNS exam requires the NLE, but there are only a handlful of states that require that exam.

If you are not going to work in PI, don't bother with that exam. Your choice, there are already many theads on this topic. Have a look at them.

Ma'am Suzanne, is the nle still required when taking the cgfns exam for someone(filipino citizen) who didn't take the nle in the first place, just took the nclex(got licensed) and got visascreen?

How about applying the same scenario above but this time, this person is a US citizen?

This question is made for the benefit of those who are educated in the RP and plans to take the cgfns exam for the sake of who plan or want to move/relocate to a "cgfns exam state"(current plan or future plan). Thank you.

The NLE is required for any Filipino citizen that wishes to take the CGFNS exam, as it requires the local license to sit for the exam.

There is only one time that it is waived and that is for someone that trains in another country and cannot write the local exam in that country, usually do to language constraints. Have seen it with one of the International Universities in Thailand, where the students were taught in English, and never learned Thai; the licensing exam is in Thai. And their home countries would not let them write their local exam as they did not train there, such as with those that are from Japan.

So, if the nurse has US citizenship, they do not qualify for the NLE exam; even if they trained in PI. They will need to get a special waiver from CGFNS for this. But since there are only a handful of states that still requires the CGFNS exam, it is not much of a concern anymore.

Most that are training in PI, are not going to a state that requires the CGFNS exam. But if they need it, I am sure that they can ask, as they have done so in the past.

If the state requires CGFNS exam, then if the nurse trained out of the US, not matter what their citizenship, they must write the CGFNS exam. It is not waived for them. Licensure requirements are not waived because someone is a US citizen.

If they trained in PI, and the state will not let them endorse without having the CGFNS exam; such as Michigan, then they need to write the CGFNS exam to endorse.

And if the person is never going to work in PI, and only wishes to work in the US, there is absolutely no reason to take the NLE. Same thing that I have been stating all along.
