I also heard that over there in the Phils. they offer IELTS already? If they do then it is important to sit that exam first before applying to NZ.
This thread is concerning working in the Philippines, not other countries.
Please stick to the topic that is being discussed.

i really had a hard time applying for a job as a staff nurse then so i decided to take NCLEX-RN right away. Now that i am an NCLEX passer, i am still applying for a position as a staff nurse because the agency that called me up upon passing nclex requires at least 6 months of clinical experience, trainings are even counted. however, i still haven't landed on a staff nurse job...

whew! tough one!
Hi,

I can only emphatize with what you guys have undergone this past few weeks, months/ years. I graduated more than a decade ago and up to now the problems remain the same, lack of opportunities. When I was in your situation, I applied to almost all the prestigious hospitals in manila, and I was denied everytime. I was so downtrodden that I accepted working as a volunteer nurse in a Government Hospital even if I am a licensed nurse already without pay and a 3 day rotating shift with an unbelievable workload. I stayed for 9 months, I wouldn't say I've had enough but the realities are just staring me in the face, Ive got to earn to support myself and my family. I looked into other avenues/ opportunities, I went into sales, I am not saying this is for everybody, but it pays. Im just being practical. I am now a manager in a medical equiment distribution company and I encounter a lot of nurses applying with us. I am saddened by the fact that they have nowhere else to go, but no one said that in life, everything is easy. My unsolicited advice, " No matter what happens, be it good or bad, dont ever, give up". In fact, I might be joining the nursing profession soon. Cheers

The National Center for Mental Health in Mandaluyong is always in need of nurses. You don't need the training when they can offer you an actual job and that will serve as your training as well. It may take a while for the screening process but that facility needs pyschiatric nurses.

do they accept fresh grads with no experience whatsoever?
I really had fun during our exposure there, its one of the few hospitals where you get to handle one patient each student... lots of learning.. and challenge.. hehe

any response would be great.. thanks!
