Re: Filipino nurses and CMDHB (Middlemore Hospital), NZ
It's better if you contact the nursing council (google it for the website) and ask them whether via email or phone. I am not sure but what they said was, only the second courser would be difficult to apply. If you are second courser or just graduated and without at least 1 year job experience, the nursing council will automatically decline your application for registration, thereby not qualifying you to undergo any bridging course in the country.
Yes, there is a high demand for nursing jobs in the country. But first you need to be qualified. NZ is still accepting Filipino nurses. The question is, "are u qualified?" and "can u do the job safely and properly?"
Getting IELTS of 7, registration from the nursing council (this is to allow you to undergo the 6-8 wks competency or bridging course in NZ) , and passing the registration thru bridging course are the three keys to getting your job in NZ. Eve if you're still waiting for your registration, you can search the net and apply for possible employers in different hospitals in the country. You can apply online and they will get back to you in 1-2 weeks whether you are qualified or not for an interview. See? That quick! If they don't get back to you in a week, you can contact them and ask your status and DEFINITELY they will get back to you. Kiwis are polite people. Not replying to any query is regarded as rudeness. And they hate rude people. You can apply as many as you can and be upfront on what you want. Honesty is vital and they won't take it against you if you happen to prefer the other job than theirs.
I hope this helps.

Let's keep upbeat while we can!
