hi dian, we're on the very same situation. it's very VERY difficult to accept that I made it during the first time and with the scandal, we had to undergo a retake. worse is, i never made it to the list of passers. i rily cant accept the fact that i hav to surrender my license, especially now that i am now just waiting for employment in heart center which took me a year to wait.. but I am still praying that the good Lord will make way for things to fall in proper places.. I am thinking of taking the entire retake, for future's sake.. May God bless us though, coz i dnt wana fail this exam just because they will (again) change the major topics like what they surprisaingly did.. let's hope and pray for the best. after all, I believe that there is a rainbow after the rain, that will lead to a brighter sunshine.. God bless

Please take the time to do some reading on the International Forum for specifics as to working in the US. This thread should remain on topic and specific to not passing the retest. Questions about the US specifically should go to the other forum per the red banner at the top of this forum.

Also recommend that you read the Primer that can be found there. No one can apply for the NCLEX exam directly, it requires application to a state Board of Nursing and their permission to sit for the exam. It is actually a national licensing exam and is the final step in the licensing process, far from the only procedure.

To clear up some information and facts for you that have retested:

The issue is not being able to take and pass the NCLEX exam, it is being able to get a Visa Screen Certificate and that is what requires the passing score on the NLE exam.

It has always been recommended that you rewrite the entire exam, as then you have a better chance to pass. When writing only two sections, you must pass both to get a passing mark on that exam.

Best of luck to you on your retest.

Sorry to hear that you did not make the retesting of the NLE. As far as I know, you are going to have to rewrite the entire exam, you will not be able to write the two sections alone if you already did once.

I would recommend that you keep your license and get some experience under your belt and then rewrite the exam later on. If you give up your license now, it is still going to be a couple of years before you will be able to work in the US, if at all. There is no guarantee to that anymore for anyone.

Topics on exams are always changing, samething with the NCLEX exam. Exams are never similar and should never be prepared for as to expect that.

I would focus on working at the facility that you wish for now, or even consider another country to gain some experience first. Then retest and you will feel more comfortable, but if you have been waiting a year for this job, do not give that up now. No sense in that.

Best of luck to whatever that you do.

sad to head that also...i may also feel the same way you all feel if i failed the retake, but god is good..i passed! as we all know, the only way for those who failed the test 3 and 5 retake is taking the entire exam again and with a surrender of license...i ms. suzanne says, i think the best way for you to do now is still pursue your heart center employment..and then take the board again later...as you said, and as i had also experience., the phil.heart center longwaiting employment is
really an impt. one( it also took almost a year for me, but now i am waiting for the orientation schedule) good luck and hope you decide best for your future..
