Difference between Fatima Valenzuela & QC Campuses

Hello everyone! I'm currently a second year nursing student at Fatima QC. The reason why I want to know what the differences are between Fatima Valenzuela and QC campuses is the recent December 2007 local board exam results. Fatima Valenzuela produced more local board topnotchers (produced 9 during the December 2007 NLE), compared to Fatima QC (which produced only 1). I think it's not with the professors per se, since they mostly have Master's degrees and one of my professors told our class that the two campuses exchange instructors from time to time (every year or two). So I'm really wondering what really is the difference. Could it be the hospitals that Fatima QC students do their clinicals in? Or is it the students themselves, or the system within the campuses? I'm really baffled. I want to transfer to Fatima Valenzuela because I think the learning is better there, but it's too far from our home (which is nearer to Fatima QC), and they say it floods there a lot during the rainy days. I want to know if it's gonna be worth it. I hope fellow Fatimanians would see this post and tell me what they think. Thanks!

the difference between the two campuses is that school administration in valenzuela is quite tough in handling their students..they teach and review their students very well..they are very focused on their students..because they want to make sure that many will top the board exam..whila in q.c campus, its the other way around....i knew because i graduated from fatima q.c...

Last time I heard in Our Lady of Fatima Univ. is that even if you have completed the bachelors degree in nursing but you fail the QUALIFYING EXAM (mock board/pre-board) they wont release your Transcript of Records.

Im not sure if this is illegal, witholding someones diploma but these is what students have been saying.

^so true, lavalin. sum of my classmates failed the quali and the staff told them that they will be able to get it (TOR, other credentials, etc..) around march or april this year, and they're not allowed to take the board exams in december even if they graduate in october. they still have to wait for the june batch. im from qc, btw, but still proud regardless of how many topnotchers the two branches produce,. after all, we bear the same name of school anyway. good or bad, it will still reflect the kind of students olfu produces.

Isnt that illegal? What does the PRC or CHED (Commission on Higher Education) say on policies like this?

If they wont release your TOR until you pass the mock board / pre-board they you also cant apply for NCLEX Exam until they will release those pertinent documents.

I can say that Fatima valenzuela really guard their students, I graduated there so I clearly knew the rules... first..after the course, we are not allowed to review to other review school like others, since fatima offers a review class to those about to take the board...ofcourse with pay..nothing is free from fatima...then after a couple of months reviewing, we will take the mc board exam, meaning,a board like exam made by fatima.. but a lot harder I think, should we passed the mc board..then we can take the board exam....should we fail...then, we need to undergo another months of review.some students even try to sue the school for doing this...we cant take the board if we fail the mc board because our papers are with them..and they are the one applying for the prc..so there is really no way to escape the rules...but in the end..its all worth it...we really passed the exam in good ratings...and without leakage! honest!!! so if you'll ask me if its worth to transfer..in my opinion, if your not really short on money...then its worth it..
about the floods...yes, it floods everywhere here in RP when it rains right? and besides....theres a lot of airconditioned canteen to hang around while waiting for the flood to subside...you live far... theres alot of dorm ...just a few distance from the school...just one advise...get ready with your money.
