Credentials Eval. Through Cgfns & Nclex

Thanks for all the infos. I have contacted the Hawaii BON and I was told
that I don't have to be a license holder from the country where I have
acquired my BSN degreee to be eligible for the NCLEX. I do need to
have my credentials evaluated through CGFNS though... I was a little
concern though about my transcript from the philippines , since its
been
about ten years they might not be to be used for my degree here in the
states . I guess I'll just have to wait and hope for the best ! As for
the review, what would you guys recommend for reading material? I wanna go
ahead and start reviewing while waiting for my CES . Anyways, thanks y'all for the all infos shared!!! This website is very informational !!!

Hi, how about getting your license at California then have it endorse here in Aloha state? that's what I did just like the rest of Philippine Nurses who are currently working here. did you read my private message by any chance?

The CES is just an evaluation of the courses that you took, and they can be from 20 years ago. Time does not matter for this.

CA does not issue a license until the nurse has a SSN#. So you cannot endorse directly. As there is no license to endorse.

Chichimitchi, since babyish is U.S. immigrant, yes she can have her california license endorsed to Hawaii. I was licensed in California also, and did the license by endorsement from Cali-to Hawaii.
to answer your question, yes she can have her Cali license endorsed to Hawaii BON even if she does didn't go through CES. remember, CES by CGFNS job is to evaluate your credentials from the Philippines, some states requires that first before giving you the eligibility to take the licensure exam, and California board of nursing do their own credential evaluation.
the key for endorsement is you need to have your social security number or SSN. this unique is number is given only for immigrants who are allowed to stay in the United states legally. the bottomline? you don't have a social security number, you cannot endorse your license in any other states, like Suzanne said.
if you are not quiet sure? you can always read the requirements in each State BON. I hope this helps?

How about applying for Visa screen? it looked like you got everything. I don't think there is such thing as a "reciprocity" anymore. If you are licensed in the State of California, then you need to have your Cali license endorsed to Illinois, however, you will to have a social security number for that, which is only given to people that are legally allowed to work here in the U.S., I guess your best bet is to apply for Visa Screen via CGFNS first.
