Just use Q and A books for the NCLEX, basically the question in the CGFNS are the same with the NCLEX.

No. As mentioned here before CGFNS exam is completely different from the NCLEX exam. CGFNS is focused on objective type exam while NCLEX deals more on application. The best approach to the CGFNS is just master the Official Guide of the CGFNS. Then focus more on test taking strategies...

Well, I took my CGFNS way back in 1992. I used MOSBY NCLEX-RN then.

My sister took the CGFNS and NCLEX-RN using Saunders.

It is a matter of strategies taking the exams that will help.

We will never know the difference until we take the two exams but NCLEX is more of prioritizing.

I took CGFNS last July 12, 2006 and NCLEX August 13, 2006

I just used Saunder's COmphre and enrolled at Kaplan.... its worth it..... cause i know preparation is only the same...

ALTHOUGH I find CGFNS harder since it is objective type... meaning very exact... while the NCLEX is more on application... ...

So i suggest you schedule your NCLEX close to your CGFNS schedule..

I took and passed both my cgfns and nclex last year.

For CGFNS, I used CGFNS Study guide and Lippincott. The exam was full of med-surg and pharma topics. Very little prioritization and delegation.

For nclex, I used saunders and Kaplan. I guess both were great study materials because I found the actual exam pretty manageable. Mostly priorities and delegation. Passed it with 75 questions.

Good luck on your exam.
