My advice is don't rush it man.You might end up having hard time in passing nclex!I think there is a past pace nursing degree but thats for the 2nd degree course people only.

Any program that is currently fast paced in the Philippines and the nurse is having problems in the US in their workplace.

Don't look for shortcuts, and make sure that the school has sent nurses over to the US, so that rules out any new programs. No matter what the school tells you. Until they actually have graduates that have made it thru the immigration process and have started working in the US, do not even consider them. And this is the same even if you wish to work in another foreign country.

And it has not a thing to do with passing of the NCLEX exam, but having clinical skills that will keep you from losing your job. Foreign nurse training for the RN should be equivalent all over the world, and we are not seeing that lately. Better to be safe, rather than sorry.

And what if it were your family member that were being cared for. What skills would you want that nurse to have?

I really appreciate how you put up time responding to these threads. I was just curious, how would you find out if someone from that school made it thru the immigration process??? would you recommend calling the immigration to make sure?? I really understand your point of view about studying in the Philippines, that is why I really want to make sure that I have an assurance that everything will be cool. The only reason why I want to go to the Philippines to study because I don't want to waste time waiting to get in the Nursing Program. And one more thing, who do you call about the Nursing Law in the Philippines?

Check with the Board of Nursing for the state where you wish to get licensed. Immigration does not do anything with licensure.

The key thing to think about is how long has the school been around? If they have just opened in the past two years or so, they have not sent anyone to the US, nor has anyone gotten approval to even sit for the NCLEX exam.

If your focus is to work in the US, stick to a very established school that has nurses in their best interest, not how much money that they can make before they are investigated. And make sure that they actually provide adequate clinical training. That is affecting all that are coming over to the US right now....clinical hours have been really short-changed in some programs.

I Was enrolled in St. Ignatius College. It is a fraud. They can't get their students to Fresno City College. It was a bait and switch. The facilities and teachers were not good. I wasted sooo much money there. My father spoke directly with the Dean of Nursing at Fresno City College. Spread the word and protect the Filipino people.

Thread edited to remove name that was posted for liability issues.

A friend of mine told me about this school lately and it got me intrigued.

So I called Fresno City College today and spoke with the Nursing Program Director. I was told that they do not have a direct affiliation with St. Ignatius. She did state, however, that they have an articulation program with St. Ignatius and that they base admissions the same way they base admissions for a regular transfer student.

Basically, what she said was that there's no special treatment given to St. Ignatius students.

I forgot to ask about evaluation of official transcript tho.

Oh and I checked St Ignatius' website, Fresno City College is no longer on their website.

It is extremely hard to get into Nursing Schools here in NY. You basically have to have straight A's on your pre reqs and a rockin score on your Entrance Exam to get in the community colleges. Fresno City College is a community college. That's probably is the reason why.

Hope this helps.
