Is AMA any good?

I'm a second courser and will be taking up BSN in June. I initially planned to enroll in AMA East Rizal Campus but I keep on stumbling upon negative feedback about AMA in general. The Rizal Campus is very close to where I live and it will be very convenient for me. I'm now confused because I can't wait to go back to school. Help pls. THanks!

If you are starting already in June, looks like you signed up with them already. The time to investigate them is before you sign ip to attend there.

A few things to consider. Is this an accredited program that is accepted out of your country? How long is the actual program? Is it accepted in the US?

The school that you mentioned is known for computer courses, so nursing must've been a newly offered course,do you personally know someone who graduated BSN there and actually in US now working legally as RN?...if so, I think that would not be a problem. Also check with CHED if it's accredited.

If it is a new program, then no one is working in the US yet from there. Something to consider, and if their primary focus has been I.T., suggest you look for another school. There are programs popping up all over your country, and they are not living up to the training that you need. Definitely, consider a program that already has nurses in the US working.

I know of some AMA IT students here in Cebu who transferred to another school because of inefficiency/corruption on the part of the school admin/owners. Worse part, after 4 years in AMA, not all credits were granted to them. For a 5-yr comp eng course, it took them more than 6 yrs to complete – courtesy of AMA.

If that happens to their IT showcase, what more with their newly offered nursing course?

Unless you want to waste your time and money, stay away from AMA.

thanks a lot for that information. just wanna share something too..
something came up and i will no longer be able to attend school this June. but i have enrolled myself in AMA for Nursing last April. A few days ago I went to the accounting office to refund the 1st of three payments that I made, which amounts to about P6,700. At the back of the reg card, it clearly stated that miscellaneous fees are non-refundable. Much to my surprise, the lady at the accounting office told me that I will only be refunded P2,400 because the miscellaneous fee of P4300 was non-refundable. I think that's a lot of crap, charging me the miscellanous fee in full on the first payment? Classes don't start til two weeks and most schools would gladly refund anybody's payment in full. I guess AMA's not most schools...and i had to learn this the hard way. lessons learned..

p.s. oh btw, i was also told that it will take a minimum of 4 months before I could get back my money....and this lady wasn't at all accommodating.

hi, why dont you try to browse the internet for Rizal located nursing schools? Im also a second courser and excited to go back to school. Im going to enroll tom at Metropolitan Hospital College of Nursing in Sta Cruz, Manila. They have a special program for second coursers offering flexible class sched. they have 5 to 10pm, sat and sunday classes for second coursers, you have an option to go with the day classes also. My sister in law also transferred in Metropolitan from AMA. I think its better to choose a nursing school and browse the internet for the top schools ..
