States are at a liberty to change their requirements and some now have and expect a local license to meet their requirements and with retrogression I wouldn't be surprised to see more follow suite. I don't think these days there are many countries that do not ask for a license in the country you trained with exceptions only if you are not allowed to sit the exam due to not being a citizen

Im waiting for the release of PRC ID CARD last OCTober 2008. and got my eligibility letter DECEMber 2008. Very long waiting period huh.
Almost all states right now, require for CES through CGFNS. and you cannot get that if you dont pass the NLE.. cause it require Verification of License in the origin of Country.
I just want to correct this one. CGFNS doesn't require a license/NLE for them to come up with a CES. Yes it has a License Verification form but if you don't have a license, then CGFNS won't argue with that. The main purpose of the CES is to compare your nursing training to that of the US. Now, if your State of choice requires a nursing license/NLE, then that's the time you'll provide CGFNS with your license so it will reflect on the CES report. Also, even if the State doesn't require a local license, and you have one, then you must provide CGFNS with that. But again, if you don't have one, and the States doesn't require one, it's fine.

But I want to warn you guyz that even if a State doesn't require a local license it's almost required to have one since there's a recession and retrogression in the US. Where will you acquire the hospital experience needed to apply as a nurse overseas. And almost every country requires a local license and perhaps some experience.
(of course, those with immigrant status to these countries MAYBE exempted)

God Bless!

You know that US students who finished thier 2 year in nursing program can sit in NCLEX? here in the Philippines. they require us to finish 4 year nursing course and pass the NLE before sitting to NCLEX.

ergo, take the chances in exams.... goodluck
its different for people. some pass the NLE and flunk the NCLEX. its really not how much you memorized but its how much you can apply it as the NCLEX assumes that you know the material hence why they dont make the questions obvious and make their questions analysis, and i know most schools in the philippines do BSNs. those 2 year students really focused the techincal aspect and know their nursing skills. im US trained with a BSN degree and passed the NCLEX at 83 questions and IMO it was a walk in the park .

81%. But does having a passing score on the NLE really help with the NCLEX? I did the same reviewing style by the way and luckily it worked for me LOL
