Agency Vs. No agency

by g3stalt

Hello!
I'm a new graduate of march 2008 and recently passed the PNLE last June 2008...

Just want to ask everyone's opinion if it would be easier to have an agency do the processing of being eligible in taking the NCLEX or is it better to do it on your own..??

I know this agency that give online reviews (for NCLEX), processes your eligibility for NCLEX, IELTS VSC, helps you get an employer and follows-up everything, but the service fee cost $300 (approx. P15,000)....(NCLEX,IELTS,VSC fees not included)---this agency has already proven it self, since I have friends who have been helped by this agency already...

I know that pathway on how to get an eligibility, but I'm just afraid that I might have difficulty in the processing with all the needed bank drafts, the papers needed, the sending to US of the documents... I'm just scared that I might make a mistake in the process and I end up paying more...

Do you think it's okay to do the processing on my own or is it safer to have the agency do it? Thanks for the opinions...

Personally I found it easy to do it myself and if you search the forums (this and International) you will more than likely find the question has already been asked if you come across a problems.

to start with it you must first decide what state you want to be licensed with. here are the list of the bon state just click on this www.ncsbn.org

with that try to browse the requirements of the state you wish to apply for licensure then meet their application requirements.

personaly you can do it without the aid of that processing center. it will add more cost on your side. for as long as you follow the guidelines in the application pocket specied then no need to be scared.

A lot of people here have done the processing on their own. You can track everything without added costs and you are assured that your papers are in good hands.

Why give an agency $300 to fill out forms for you? That makes no sense at all to me.

And these agencies also make mistakes as well, we see it happen all of the time. They cannot get processing done any quicker for you and you are still looking at minimum of a five year wait for a chance at a visa for the US to work here; so I would suggest just taking the time and doing things on your own and save that extra money.

Well, thanks for all the encouragement to do it on my own. Actually this forum was main reason that I'm holding back from taking the agency's offer. All of my friends here in Iloilo are taking either review centers or agencies to process their NCLEX, but due to limited finances, I wanted to be different. And I know, that you all are all here to help me out. Right now, I'm still contemplating on what to do, because even my parents are telling me to take the agency's offer so that I won't have anything to worry about. But anyway, thanks for all the suggestions, I'll tell you my decision soon. Thanks again.

just do it on your own.instructions are already given, you just need to follow it very carefully & if you have some questions you can email the state bon. you can save your money & at the same time aware of your status.

Kudos to you! You will find that it is hard at first but think of others who have done it which is the same thing that you are going through. Good luck!

You made the right decision. P15,000 just to help you process all the forms is too much. You still end up doing it all by yourself. Me, I did it on my own with help of some of my friends. It wasn't that hard though. Godbless on your application.
