The agencies in PI are the ones that are asking for the two years of experience. Would never recommend them in the first place. Most of them have no idea of how anything is done in the US and what the cities are even like over here.

Most are just selling you to the highest bidder, like a slave.

Experience is a good thing if you did not graduate from an actual four year program, but a second courser, where the clinical training is a little shy of actual clinical experiences. But as far as agencies requiring it? And probably the same ones that still state that all states in the US require the CGFNS exam.

Staffing agencies based in the US doesn't require any experience. They'll still gonna train you there anyways....

that's wat im looking for, too. here's another thing. usually, hospitals here in phils only release certificates of employment if you have worked with them for at least 2 years. are there any agencies that accept nurses without these certificates? bcoz not all of us actually stay that long in hospitals, given the working condition here..

Hi. Welcome to allnurses.com

Yes, you are correct that the more reputable hospitals in the PI will only give certificates of employment if the nurse was able to finish the 2 year contract. Any time a nurse who doesn't finish it, either by resigning or otherwise will not be given one.

And yes, there are agencies that do accept it as the poster above has stated as well. It is usually US-based agencies that do this. The hospitals will give at least 2-3 mos orientation/training for new grads and nurses re-entering the field again and some facilities even have Internship programs for new grads.

You have to look for reputable agencies that are non-Philippine based for this.

So does anyone of you can please recommend a US-based agency or direct hiring hospitals? I am actually on training with a tertiary hospital but it seem time consuming when everybody says you would be trained as you start working in US and it is far different from Philippine setting. I am awaiting for my ATT and I really wanted to concentrate on studies not on this training stuff.Thank you..I would greatly appreciate any reply.

Until you actually take and pass the NCLEX-RN exam, there is not one thing that any agency can do for you, or even any hospital.

Suggest that you focus on that right now, rather than training that will be useless for you. One thing at a time. You need to focus on passing the exam, or there will be no need for anything further.

I do not do the work for you. You need to take the time and do some reading. Each state has its good points and bad points, as well as good weather and bad weather. Crime issues in certain cities and not in others. You need to do some homework of your own.

One thing that I can easily state is that there is no way that I would recommend one of the agencies that has offices in your country and in the US. You are paying for that with your salary.

Pay good, housing cheap, and low crime rate. It is going to be hard to get all of that in one place. There is usually a trade on one of them. And you left off weather. That would always be number one on my list.

some hospitals in the philippines give training prior to hiring. and if you don't get hired, they will still give you the certificate for the training program. you paid for that(training) after all.
