- Nov 6, '12 by laxbam7Not to sound bitter but I really don't think it's fair that students who do not have the pre-reqs get in. When their are candidates who have everything complete. I am fairly new to PA. I have over 100 credits completed from other Uni's and am well qualified. I want them to bring back the entrance exam.
Anyone know what other schools have classes/clinical's offered in evenings? - Nov 6, '12 by PghGirl7Also, to get into CCAC, you really need a high GPA. Because they give extra point to those of us who have any sciences completed, the starting GPA is a 6.25, provided you have a 4.0 with all sciences completed. Someone (like myself) could have a higher GPA without all sciences compared to someone else with all sciences done but with a low GPA. You can calculate your nursing application GPA by adding .75 for an A, .50 for a B and/or .25 for a C for each science on top of your current GPA.
- Nov 6, '12 by PghGirl7Quote from laxbam7I understand your bitterness, but I do have all my pre-reqs done. It's the co-reqs I'm working on. How would it be fair that I busted my butt getting all A's to get turned down because a C student completed all the co-reqs. That's why they do give bonus points to your GPA to help you get into the program for taking classes you did t have to yet. Unfortunately, someone who didn't compete all co-reqs still had a higher GPA than you with your bonus points. It happens. I'm sorry you didn't get in, but it's over 700 applicants fighting for less than 300 seats. Not to sound bitter but I really don't think it's fair that students who do not have the pre-reqs get in. - Nov 6, '12 by PghGirl7You can't appeal. The seats are already filled. They're not going to send a accepted student a letter that says "sorry we revoked your seat because another student filed an appeal." And they're not going to add seats because then everyone who qualifies would appeal.
Sorry yinz didn't get in this time. Maybe next time. Good luck! - Nov 6, '12 by belchelYou can appeal because I know people who did. People drop out before the program even starts and seats are opened up. I can almost promise that. I just don't know howbabser likes this.
- Nov 6, '12 by PghGirl7I think they have a waitlist for that reason. The next qualified applicant would get the seat, not someone who complained.
