Question about calling in scripts

  1. 0 we are a behavioral health counseling agency in pennsylvania. i have a question. our rn often has to call in precriptions to the pharmacy , getting a verbal consent from the client on the phone and documenting this verbal consent.. does our agency have to have the client sign a consent for the nurse to call the pharmacy.? we do usually do this , but if the consent is out of date or there isn't one in the record for whatever reason, can he still and should he still ( liability wise ) call in the prescription. we know that controlled substances are a different story. thank you shirl
