Pls Help!!! GPA and Accelerated BSN for Jefferson

  1. Hello everyone I really need your help for real,

I am out of state and I wanna have my accelerated BSN degree in PA, at this moment of time I am targeting to Thomas Jefferson BSN/MSN Program or Dexal accelerated BSN program. However, I don really know the chance of being accepted as I don't know about the average GPA for admission (the admission board doesnt want to disclose it).

    Following are all my information:
GPA: 3.25, major in Info. Systems
Work Experience: 2 yr summer part time as a nurse assistant, 2 yrs work experience as a marketer
Volunteer Job: as a volunteer worker in hospital

Can anyone able to help me to evaluate the chance of getting into Jefferson and Dexal? Besides, how's the reputation about jefferson as I don really see much threads about Jefferson....

    Thanks thanks thanks!!

I applied to Drexel and they told me that if you have above a 3.0 overall GPA in your degree you will get in the program. I applied a few months ago for this fall and just got a letter from them saying they are full for this fall (the admit 200 students in the fall i think). They asked if I would like to start next march or next fall. I asked the admission director if the criteria for admission would go up and he said it is possible.

I would contact Drexel directly and see what they say...

I had a 2.85 and I got into Drexel's ACE program. I was in the second class to go through-- admission requirements may have changed since then.

I'm in the program right now. They're sticking to the 3.0 GPA as a minimum requirement and there is talk about upping it, but that's just talk. They really don't rank you by GPA - it's really done on a first-come first-serve basis. You'll get in just fine with a 3.25.

Hi, thanks for ur reply... So do u think Jefferson is a good school to go? And also are the professors supports to ur work and study? And which one is better? Jefferson or Dexel?

I really can't speak for Jeff - although I hear it's a good school. Most of the Drexel faculty also teaches at Jeff. So far the clinical instructors have all been good, but I've only had two of them so far. I'm not sure what you're asking about work - but they do expect you to not work during the program. A few people are doing it, though.

    Hope that helps,

I moved here from out of state, so I don't know about CCP. Drexel accepted me "provisionally" before I completed my pre-reqs.
