hi,

I'll be attending 's ace program in september 2006. Just looking for others who have been through the program or are going to start the program. i'm a little nervous becasue i've heard so many things.

Hello All! I will be attending the ACE program in the fall also. I am excited, yet very nervous..wondering what I am getting myself into!

Hello, I will be starting the ACE program in the fall too, I am also from New Jersey. What area are you from?

Specializes in Neuro/Ortho.

About 20 mins from Philly, sorta by Cherry Hill, familiar w/ that area? How about you?

I'm not sure if you got response, I'm still figuring out how the site works. Let me know. Anyway, I live about 20 minutes away from Philly...actually where I'm originally from. I've lived in New Jersey for about 2 years now.

Got it, you're pretty close to me. I sent it to you as well, I'm going to the Sunday session too. I was born and raised here, so I know where you are, pretty much right around the corner. Heard of Overbrook High school?

yes, I've heard of Overbrook High School. I actually have a friend who graduated from there about 15 years ago...ughh, that makes me sound old! :scrying:

RowerPSU and anyone else planning vacation- Call up the ACE people and ask them when the orientation is. I had planned a vacation six months before orientation in 2005 (I think it was going to be from September 7-15), only to have it cut short when I got a letter that the orientation was on September 11 or 12 for three days...and class didn't start until the last week in September. (These are proably about teh dates of orientation my year...I can't quite remember but it was pretty close.) So I had thought that logically orientation was the first week of school. Best part about it was I got this letter exactly one month before the orientation. I was exceedingly lucky that I could switch my airline tickets around (thank God for Southwest) but I was still pretty annoyed to have to leave early. My boyfriend actually stayed and left after me because we visiting some friends.

So if you're planning something, try to get an answer from the nursing office about when orinetation is or plan your vacation for July or August just to be safe.

Thanks for the info. I actually got a letter recently. The orientation is scheduled for September 13&14. I'm so anxious to start the program, what does the orientation consist of that it needs to take two days? Also, do you have any advice/info to share? I would really appreciate it!

Hi All! This is my first time using one of these forums, and I'd never even heard of a "thread" until now......hope I'm doing it right!

I'll be in the ACE program this fall too. I'm coming out from Oregon (any West Coasties out there? Acceptance to nursing programs out here is brutal.....only about 10% get admited......needless to say, I didn't fall into that category, but I did get into the ACE program, YEAH! I'm excited and terrified at the same time, but it sounds like the consensus is that it's incredibly demanding but worth sticking out.

I haven't commited to an apartment yet, but am seriously considering a place in West Falls. The building is located on Wissahickon Ave., and I've been told the R8 train stop is w/in walking distance, which will take me right to the Center City campus. Any locals that can comment on that?

Orientation is rapidly approaching......looking forward to meeting everyone!

Hello! Congrats for getting into the ACE program! Although, I am originally from Philadelphia, I am not too familiar with the train that goes from that area to . You can call Septa or get on their website, to see which train takes you where. Sorry I'm not too much help, but I look forward to meeting you anyway!!

Hi,

I'll be attending the program also in September. Maybe you are thinking of East Falls. There is an R6 train and an R8 train that takes about 10 min. to get to center city. The R6 runs often. I'm not sure of the R8, but you can always look at train schedules at http://www.septa.com

Anyway, I hope to see you at orientation.

Is this the On-Line program?

I am looking into this already. I am a LPN who is currently in a RN ASN program.

When I finish this I am going to continue with my BSN.

Drexel offers these on-line and is a respected university.

Does anyone have experience with this or any other thoughts?:mortarboard:
