Drexel Nursing ACE Program Fall 2013

U.S.A. Pennsylvania

Published

HI guys, so I am very new to this but I am EXTREMELY anxious about getting accepted into this program for the Fall. I have a Public Health Degree and have quite some experience in the Health field (ie. hospitals, senior living home, companion care, education).

Reading other forums I really don't know what my chances are of getting in. I have seen someone with a cum. gpa of 2.6 get in, while someone with a 3.0 get denied. Anyone who has applied, have you heard back from yet? Do you know anyone who was accepted into the spring 2013 semester.

I'm praying EXTRA hard. I never wanted anything so much in my life. All my Application materials have been in since August 6.

Yourstruly_dm Im living in Brooklyn right now :)

Congrats meredith8!!! I paid my tuition downpayment yesterday. I figured I won't be hearing from Pace or SBU anytime soon, so it might be in my best interest to hold my seat. The only thing I'm nervous about it the housing situtation. I know many who are accepted mentioned in the facebook group that they will be staying off campus. I feel safer being on campus since Philly will be totally new to me.

Hi all. I just got in for the fall too! Congrats to everyone else that's gotten in so far and good luck to those still waiting to hear. :)

Yourstruly_dm and meredith8, I live in Washington Heights right now. I've been in NYC for almost 6 years now, so I'm looking forward to a change of scenery!

Hey Chula431,

You should join the facebook group if you have not already done so.

Hey! I am just as nervous about the housing situation. I have some friends and my boyfriend already in Philly but since I will be finishing my first undergrad this May I am nervous too! But, from talking to other nursing students there are very few that live in Center City (where our buildings are). Most live in University City and travel via the Shuttle at 33rd and Market daily. They all said it is super easy, safe, and reliable. I am looking for housing now in University City. I just sent a request to the FB group so if anyone is interested in housing let me know!

I guess after I visit the Philly area I'll decide what to do in terms of housing.

Hey, congrats to everyone!! I'm attending the info session this Thurs at . I've recently decided to apply for fall of 2014 and was just wondering if it's better to get my application in early. I do have 9 completed prereqs, but I have 4 more to go. Should I wait until it's closer to the October deadline to apply when I'll have a couple more prereqs completed or should I just go for it when I'm ready? I'm a little scared of the program right now so I'm trying to gather as much info as possible. I'm one of those people that need to be as prepared as possible before starting something new. Again, congrats to you all! And hang in there, I heard it is a grueling 11 months, but well worth it in the end:)

Hi mj1014,

I'll be starting the program this Sept for Fall 2013. I would definitely recommend applying as early as possible given that you already have the 9 prereqs completed(at least 1 of the sciences should be done too). reviews applications based on when you submitted your application. If you read through this thread, you can see those with earlier acceptance notices applied much earlier than the Oct deadline. I applied in mid October and didn't hear back until the end of Jan., a grueling 3 month wait! Just be sure to send in your updated transcripts as you complete your preqs. I live in the area so I personally delivered my application package to Admissions, but snail-mailed updated transcripts and I noticed those transcripts took forever to be "received and processed."

Good luck to you!!

Thanks so much for the info. That info session gave me a lot to think about. It's sounds super scary. I'm going to apply and hope for the best! Best of luck to you. Please keep us updated after you start so we can be prepared! Well, as prepared as we can be anyway! LOL

hey guys!

I just applied for the Spring 2014 cohort and I have a question about sending transcripts. Do I need to send it with the transcript request form or can I just ask my college to send it directly to ? I am asking this because I don't live near that college anymore and would have to make a trip there if I need to send my transcript with the request form.

Congrats on all the acceptances and best of luck to those that are still waiting! :)

You can ask your college to send it directly to . They should have an "order transcript online" link on their registrar's website. Most schools do.

Hi guys,

I was just accepted to 's Fall 2013-2014 program. Can anyone tell me what they mean by a computer applications course? Thanks!

Hi guys,

I was just accepted to Drexel's Fall 2013-2014 program. Can anyone tell me what they mean by a computer applications course? Thanks!

It's an introductory level of a computer course. To be sure that accepts the course you're planning to take, you can always email a copy of the course description to the advisor.

Got accepted into the Fall 2013 program! Super excited!! Trying to figure out the housing situation, it's making me a little nervous! If anyone in the program knows of apartmens or people needing roommates please let me know! I'll be applying to on campus housing as well just in case.

Congrats to everyone that has been accepted!
