Thanks for all the info guys! I start in the fall as well. Have any of you gotten financial aid award letters yet? I attended the new students day last weekend and it was a waste of time. I'm pretty sure it was me and a bunch of 18 year old freshmen. Does anyone know if the new student days will be worth going to? Thanks!

I haven't received anything..... I wish it would hurry up and come.... As for the new students days, I am registered to to go in April.. I am so glad you mentioned the freshman thing... :D I was worried about that. I probably won't go.

I may wait until the orientation to go....

Hey Everyone,

I submitted my FAFSA in Feb. and was told by the financial aid # you can call, that my aid package was created on Mar. 11. I should have it any day now... With that said, I was able to call and get the details :D.. (I couldn't wait)

If you do call, keep in mind nothing is set in stone until you receive that letter from their office...

Hey LULU,

Hope your studies are going well. I have another question...

Do you think it would benefit us to study dosage calculations now? Would this give us a head start?

Go for it! It's never too early to get started, but don't go overboard. It's pretty basic. For NURS 200 just start to memorize your conversions. I could probably rummage up a few practice questions for you, just give me a few days to see if I can come up with anything.

That would be amazing! If you don't have time I understand.... Thanks..

Hi LULU222,

Did you just finish your 2nd quarter in the Nursing co-op (where one would have taken Pharm I and Adult I)? My sister is in the program and she just completed the 2nd quarter. I believe she had Yost for Pharm and Barrett for Adult.

I thought I read in this thread that you had clinicals at Kennedy. So did my sister. She had it on Thursday AM. I wonder if you guys know each other. :)

Hope you did well this past quarter!

Yes I did! You must be Lisa's sister!! That's such a coincidence, are you in nursing school also?

Hi Lulu222,

Wow, good guess! When I told Lisa that there was someone on the thread that was possibly in her class, she was trying to figure out who you were. lol, so I guess the big question is, who are you? :-P What's your name?

But yeah, what a coincidence. Who would have thought. No, I'm not in nursing school. I'm thinking of going back to school for it though, not sure when but within the next few years possibly.

Hey LuLu and Ley,

Can either of you give us an idea of what out initial expenses will be this fall. I am referring to book and uniforms (if needed). I would have to pay some of this out of my pocket, so I'd like to plan ahead.

Thanks

Hi Finally my Time,

I checked with my sister and she can't really recall, but she said she spent around $160-200 on textbooks, most of them were used and I believe she didn't get every book that was required. In regards to uniforms (I believe she said 1 set of navy/blue uniforms, 1 set of yellow uniforms, a lab coat, name tag, the BSN patch, etc), she spent about $121. She had to get it from some uniform place that drexel sent her to. She also had to get a pair of white shoes/sneakers since she didn't own any all white ones. I think that's all her expenses were in the first quarter. Oh yeah, she had the $1100 something she needed for the health insurance but that was added to the tuition.

She still has most of the books she purchased for first quarter, so let me know if you're ever interested in purchasing any. :)
