Aria School of Nursing September 2012

U.S.A. Pennsylvania

Hi all, I'm new to this site (just joined today). But I've been lurking for a few weeks. I'm applying for the Aria Health SON and would love to meet others who are applying for the September 2012 academic year.

No I don't know where the Neshimany Complex is at...I remember some of the other girls saying there was going to be a new campus but they wasn't sure when.

I was told the move was supposed to occur sometime in April.

@ awarren808 - As you've been through this process before, I have a question if you don't mind answering? I just checked my application status today and it says that it's under RAP review, disposition date 2/28/2012. Seeing as how that date is not until tomorrow I was wondering what that could possibly mean? Do you know what an RAP review is? Is it supposed to mean that they are closing out the application process since the due date for everything is March 1?

Sorry for all the questions, I'm just so nervous and want this soooooo bad!!:o

Yes...I believe the application deadline is March 1st. It means the admission commitee is begining the decision process. Julie actually called me the day I went into rap review b/c I was missing a letter of recommendation. I don't think my application checklist had a disclosure date, just rap review and date. But I'll double check...

My checklist doesn't have a disclosure statement date.

Well then I guess I just have to keep my fingers crossed! I was told I would have been in tier 1, but I had one rough patch that had caused a few of my grades to slip and even though I recovered tremendously since then (it was years ago) that is the only thing bumping me out of tier 1. I was a little bummed about it at first but got over it quickly,at this point I just want to get in! Things happen for a reason and my lowest grade since then has been a B, so I'll take it as a lesson learned in dealing with life.

Your checklist has a tier listed? The school didn't list tiers for my applicant pool. I basically had the same situation as you with my grades. Julie called me and told me to write a letter of addendum explaining my situation. And like you I didn't anything less than a B since my mishap.

Hi everyone! I just logged into my application checklist and it doesnt say anything about a status, such as RAP review. Is this okay and is that where it would say such a thing? Also is anyone else taking a required class right now? I am currently taking Chemistry so my checklist obviously says 'No' for that grade but Julie still told me to look out for a letter in April.

And one more question! Can we get the ball rolling on any of the things we will need such as doctors appointments and such right now?

Thank you!

@Amber did you submit all of your application information? If not you won't go into rap review until the deadline March 1st. As for getting a head start on the requirements you basically have to wait for your acceptance packet. The only thing I can suggest is start the process ASAP, b/c I had a heck of a time getting appts around my work schedule. Also, maybe take the CPR for healthcare providers. The hospital offers classes, but I took the course at Jefferson.

@ Awarren No, the tier wasn't on my applicant status, I was told that when I went up to the school. I had to do the same thing you did and also had to write an addendum explaining my circumstances. But I knew that from orientation because I asked Julie then, so I turned it in when I turned in my application.

@ Amber, I currently enrolled in A&PII, but I find it's much easier than A&P I so that's a big relief for me! Did you have your interview already? If so how'd it go?!

@simplyblessed, I was not able to make an interview because I could not get in contact with Julie. But she called me the other day and I feel like we basically had an interview over the phone. She needed me to send in updated transcripts and re-send my essay. But the call went really good, she assured me that everything looked great so that makes me feel a whole lot better!

Does anyone know how to go about getting CPR certified (somewhere that the school approves)? And does it cost anything?
