Aria Health School of Nursing January 2013

U.S.A. Pennsylvania

Published

Hello everyone,

I have been following and replying to some posts for the September 2012 admissions and wanted to hear some thoughts on everyone applying to the January program. I was so excited to start my application and get into nursing school. However after I took the TEAS I became EXTREMELY nervous!

After reading some posts from accepted students however, I am feeling a bit better about getting accepted. I scored a 69 on my TEAS which I thought ment I did HORRIBLE! However I am reading that it seems to be the average test score??

I was looking to get some feedback on what score others received and hopefully we can help eachother through this time. Only one month until we find out the decisions! I am getting SOOO scared!

Oh okay thanks for the info!! Hopefully will be getting them soon!

Your welcome!! And thank you simplyblessed!! I was looking over the schedule for this year and trying get an idea of what lies ahead.

From what I've heard from upperclassmen N110 is harder than N111 because fundamentals covers so much information! When I initially looked up the schedule I wanted to work it out so that I wouldn't have a Penn State rotation, but now I'm kind of glad I will have one as it gives you a bit of mental break.

Congrats on getting in everyone!!! I am also in my first semester at Aria. I can vouch that this program is top-notch. The teachers truly care about you being successful and have been very supportive. I am so thankful I found this program and feel blessed to know it is one of the best nursing programs in Philly. At first I was nervous that it was (only) a diploma program but now I've come to realize it is one of the best BECAUSE it is a diploma program. I had no idea of Aria's plans to become a BSN program when I applied so that is a huge bonus. Of all nursing schools in the area, I truly feel like I picked the right one.

that is great to know! I too was nervous about the "diploma label" but now I'm just looking forward to starting! Now to fill out all this paper work & shell out all this money >_

Totally true. I bought 2 and have been OK so far. Clinicals are twice a week, so I wear it Thurs...toss it in the wash and wear my second pair on Friday. The though process behind it is that your supposed to keep a clean pair in your car in case you get a spill and need to change it. However, those uniforms are NOT cheap so two worked out great for me.

Hey I was thinking does anyone know what time orientation is to take place? I believe its the first week of dec. 4, 5, and 6th but I was unsure as to what the times are! And as for your first term, do a lot of your tests fall on the same day? I am kind of concerned that I am going to have a bunch of similar tests, such as Biology, all in one day and be mixing up the info!!

Hey! I just found this post and I am so excited. I will be starting the program in January. I just moved here from CT last week so it's been super hectic trying to get all the paperwork done in the middle of moving! I was also just looking to see what time the orientation is but I can't find it anywhere. I am sure they will let us know. I am so excited to meet everyone!

Hey, I just found this thread and not sure if anyone will see this, but it doesn't hurt to try.

I was wondering if anyone noticed the required "reading" list for winter 2013 they gave us in orientation..

I wasn't planning on buying those books, so does anyone know if the library has them? And will the teachers be assigning readings from those books throughout the term or are they really just for our own personal use?

See you all in a few weeks!

Hi...

I just completed nurs 110 in november and if the syllabus remains the same majority of the reading comes from fundamentals vol. 1&2 and gerontology come from the med surg textbook, maybe a few chapters online from ATI. Those were the only two books I bought so far.
