U.S.A. Pennsylvania

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has received their acceptance letters for the fall 2012 program yet and if so how many points did you have?

Yeah, such a relief. Excited to get things started : )

Just to let you know. We are getting together April 1st at my house for the HCP CPR class that is required to take prior to starting the program. If you are interested in coming just give me your email address and I'll send you the details. So far there are 4 of us and she said she can teach up to 10 people in one session.

Finally had my curriculum changed...ill be looking forward to meeting all of you

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to say I spoke to the head of the nursing department today and she said we should be expecting our orientation packets in the next few weeks which will let us know about registering for classes. Here is a copy of what she sent me.

"The Department of Nursing will be sending information about orientation in the next several weeks. We will help everyone to register at that time. For your information - the lecture sections are the credit bearing sections. You must also register for lab, seminar and clinical."

Just saw that my curriculum changed to Nursing. I'm so excited and hoping it was not a mistake.

Congrats to everyone who recently got in! I actually already registered for classes, since it's lets you online. Yes, I registered for lecture, lab, clinical and seminar. There was really no point in doing it early since they more or less meet at the same times. But if you want to get a head start so you can know your schedule, you can. See you all in the fall!

I was going to register today.. I'm wondering about clinicals though. It doesn't tell you where the locations are. I know Jefferson is one that they use but I'm not sure where else. Do you have any idea?

They also use Lankenau and Holy Redeemer. Clinicals are 7am-1 pm. They may have alternate clinical times and will ask for volunteers for those times. Unfortunately you dont get to pick where you have your clinical at, you get whatever they give you.

Awh well those are both nice hospitals.. i am right down the street from Holy Redeemer.. it would be sooo sweet if I could go there. Thats where I wanna work when I get out of school. I delivered my daughter there..the nurses were awesome!

Hello everyone

Ok I'm a little worried, no scratch that, I'm very worried. I took my AHT on 2\23\12 and I have not heard a single thing from CCP. Sadly I only got a 6 however I talked with the counselor about my chances at getting in and she stated that probably not but considering I took most of the classes required while in nursing-- except for the actual nursing classes-- and have a

B.S. already she stated that I still have a pretty good chance at getting in. In addition to that, she stated that most of the individuals who took AHT got below a 15 and that has was weird to say the least, so that coupled with my degree and the classes I already took gave me hope the I would get in but I still haven't heard anything. I need some thoughtful words of encouragement or a straight forward "your not getting in" type of response from all of you who already got there acceptance letters. In closing, I would like to ask two questions

1. If I was denied, how come I haven't gotten a letter yet ? Were they sent out already ?

2. I heard the longer you wait the better your chances are; so does that mean I'm still being considered ? Or they just haven't got around to sending out my denial letter lol ?

Whoever can shed some light on this stressful situation it would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance !!!!!

Hey just to let you know.. the program only accepts 135 students, that being said.. they take people who scored an overall 9 and 8 always and then possibly 7's. I don't think a 6 is even eligible unless they had a really bad year with applicants doing poorly. Also you had to score higher than a 15 on the AHT to even be considered or awared any points for taking it so the counselor you spoke to is misinformed. Everyone that I've talked to on here scored a 20 or higher on the AHT. Acceptance letters are still being sent out (someone received one late last week i believe) but with an overall 6 i don't know how good your chances are.(not trying to be rude or anything) Also you taking the classes that link to the program and only having nursing classes left has no bearing whether you get in or not. (i know that is stupid but thats how it works). The school doesn't even look at what classes you've taken to make a determination only that you have a c or higher in chem and bio at the highschool level, your current gpa, and your AHT score are recorded in the point system and the point system is what they base your acceptance on. Time has nothing to do with it.. in fact the earlier you applied and took your AHT the earlier you heard about admission. There are 5 other people on this forum.. 3 of us heard about our acceptance before the end of Feb. the other 2 just received notice recently. You will definitely get a letter no matter what.. you can check your cirriculum in your MyCCP account to see if your major has been changed. Some people saw their majors change prior to getting their acceptance letters. I do know that orientation packets are supposed to be going out in the next few weeks for those that were accepted so if you do not hear anything by the end of April.. then i would get worried. Hope this helps!

Just saw that my curriculum changed today! I'm so excited! See you all this fall!
