it seems though that many msn programs want you to have 1 year of nursing experience before accepting you into their program

The Lehigh Valley Health System has job postings for GNs. That's in Allentown, about an hour north of the city.
Also, think about government jobs - not just the military. The VA always seems to be hiring. The process takes a while, but it's an option.

If things don't recover, you are another 30-40K in debt and still have no experience. I have co-workers with MSNs wiping butts right next to me every shift. One just graduated from a CRNA program and can't find a position. In Pennsylvania that is.

Hello just an update I found a homecare RN position! And later that day, a hospital called . . .(first no jobs, now I have to choose!) I think the Philly market is opening up a little tiny bit, by no means a good job market, but you may find a job here and there - thanks for all your replies!

There are many jobs this fall for flu shot vaccine clinics in the Philadelphia area.
I would move if I could find anything outside the area that would pay relo costs.
I found this healthcare job on craigs list I thought you all might find amusing - it doesn't require an RN but it pays $45.00 an hour!!

I may just live in a bad area, but I know few people with school-aged kids that hasn't been affected by this at least once.

I was in Sewickley, Pittsburgh for the past three days, now I am back in Ontario, Canada. My father lives in Pittsburgh. I noticed an ad for RN's needed for one of the hospitals. I can't recall the name of the hospital but it was in the Pittsburgh Post (todays's edition).
