Syringe Psi

  1. 0 I thought that the bigger the syringe, the less the psi. I was flushing a line and was told to get a smaller syringe, that the bigger syringe would blow the vein. I was using a 10 cc syringe, and they told me that I needed a 1 or 3 cc syringe. Which is correct?

You are correct. The smaller syringes have greater pressure.

Yup, bigger syringe, less psi. That's why PICCs are only handled with 10cc or larger syringe.
If someone you work with needs an analogy, get them to think about the psi in their car tire as compared to their bike tire!
