Dec 9, '12 by aeronursenjI work in a pediatric ER but am pulled to the NICU in our hospital. I feel that the best advice I can give is to rememer to ask alot of questions while on orientation and never be affraid to ask even more questions. The NICU is a VERY high tense time as you deal not only with the child, but parents and Grandparents, siblings, aunt and uncles etc etc. Not that an adult ICU does not but with a baby (IMPO) there is a trust that the parents give you that is rewarding and a little scarey at times. But never stop learning and you will love it there. Good Luck
