I am a December 2008 ADN grad who was hired at a pediatric hospital in the ER. I was shocked, because the hospital has Magnet status, and I thought for sure they would toss my resume aside. I think I am the first one from my ADN program that has been hired at that hospital. Anyway, I don't have any great advice, but don't give up! It can happen!

Congratulations on your job!

Pediatrics is why I entered nursing school in the first place. We just finished our pediatric rotation, and our instructor was a disaster who got us kicked out of the hospital our final weekend. The good news is that even with all the stress and drama she brought to the rotation, I still LOVED being on the peds floor. So now I know I will soon be joining y'all in the ranks of pediatric nursing!

Hi everyone! I just graduated and have accepted a position in a Peds CVICU. I started yesterday and found out today that I passed boards. I am super excited but very nervous because there is still tons to learn. I wish you all the best as Peds nurses!

Wow, great news. Welcome to the pressure cooker! Be ready for an intensely hectic orientation. One little bit of advice... never turn your back on a PICU patient. The second you do they're gonna pull some crazy stunt that will have you wishing you were anywhere but there! Let us know how it goes.
