Denver Children's hospital

My husband and I are relocating to the Denver area. Does anyone work at Denver Children's Hospital? How is the pay, the nurse to patient ratio, and most importantly, the morale of the staff? Any input would be greatly appreciated:)

I noticed no one has answered yet. I live near Denver, have never worked at Children's, but, I will tell you they have the best reputation for care. The best pediatric docs are there, surgeons, ect. As for the rest, I haven't heard any negative things. The only times I have been there with my kids has been for outpatient needs. If it is Peds you want, Children's is the best in Denver! Hope this helps....VS

I haven't worked there but did my clinicals there MANY years ago. It was the top place for sick kids. Parents were treated well and the medical staff was helpful and didn't eat the newbies.

It has a great "reputation" around here.

I just noticed this post too. Like the others, I do not work there but chatted with a nurse who worked their Oncology Unit. This nurse loved it and the way the staff treated the others. She felt very stimulated and positive about the environment.

Hope this helps. Good luck to you.

I do work at Children's in Denver, on the Ortho/Rehab/Neuro unit. I've worked here now for 2 years. Previously, I've worked in 2 other hospitals in the Denver area:Presbyterian St. Lukes and Denver Health. I prefer Children's-pay is better, lower pt:nurse ratio, greater autonomy and very dedicated work force. Children's is always willing to inprove itself as well. Very attentive to nursing polls. Since I've been here we've had 2 salary increases(on top of your yearly increase), lowered benefit costs, additional PTO...etc.
