Care Assistant?

Hello,

I am just starting towards the path of becoming a nurse, but was looking into taking a CNA course so that I can get some medical experience while I'm in school. My main goal is to work as a Pediatric Nurse, and had heard that it would be good to see if I can get a job as a Care Assistant at a children's hospital. Is a CNA the same thing as a Care Assistant? If not, does anyone know of any programs in the Bay Area or Southern California? I would love any suggestion. Thanks!
