My my wife just had her gall bladder taken out laparoscopically. During post-op she could feel a gas bubble on her right side. After walking for a bit, you could see the bubble and when touched, would cause very severe pain. About 3 hours after surgery, she began to have abdominal spasms where the gas bubble is and they still continue, especially when she moves. It has been over 24 hrs and the doctors aren't giving a clear answer on what is going on. We understand the gas bubble, but why the spasms? Pain meds don't seem to be helping. The bubble doesn't appear to be going down either. Still no pain in the shoulder.

Very sorry for your wife's pain. However, the best person to ask is her provider.
