I graduate nursing school in September and applied for a ED TECH before boards

I graduate nursing school on September 15th, 2015. I currently work as a CNA at a long term acute care facility in Boston. I recently applied to a different hospital that is a level 1 trauma center in the city and got contacted back for an ED Tech position. Which I am super excited about!

I wanted to get some critical care experience before taking my boards this Fall. My main concern is that I'm afraid when I get the Interview if I should not tell them when I will be graduating or taking my Nclex-RN boards in 4 months. I just really wanted an in at this particular hospital and feel this is my chance. I want to work as an RN there eventually.

So you do want to be an RN in the ED that you have an interview with? If so, then go for it, get a foot in the door and a jump on the competition by getting in there and working your behind off. If you don't want to work in that particular ED and just want the experience, I'd still go for it and in the interview I would let them know that you are considering the ED as a home when you become an RN but don't say its not that particular ED. Also, how was your clinical experience in critical care? Was that not part of your program? Just curious.

You graduate in 2 months? Our hiring process takes that long. By the time you started as a tech you'll be an RN.
