pain management in stress related illness

by krisssy

My mother suffered her entire life with stress related pain. She is 81, and they still haven't found a thing wrong with her. I am interested in entering this field thinking that maYBE I CAN CURE HER . LOL I have a few questions:

1. Is there a difference between an advanced practice nurse and a nurse practitioner?

2. Do I need to be an advanced practice nurse or a nurse practitioner to enter this field?

3. Can a nurse cure patients of stress related symptoms such as pain and nausea etc. caused by anxiety? (organic reasons ruled out by MD's)

4. Under which situations could a nurse cure a stress related illness?

5. Any specific techniques you could share wqith me and do you have to be an advanced practice nurse to do any suggestions you may share with me?

Thanks

Krisssy
