Pain Management Nursing



Nurses are responsible for assessing, treating, and monitoring pain (referred to as the fifth vital sign); educating patients about their pain medications ; ensure safety during pain medication administration; and advocate for patients with unreleived pain. Network with Pain Management Nurses to advance and promote optimal pain management for persons with Acute Pain, Chronic Pain, Cancer Pain and Palliative Care:End of Life Pain. Pain Management Specialists are Advanced Practice Nurses with Masters Degrees and often Nurse Practitioner Certification.
