Routine Orders for Pain Management in PACU

by eslois

Hi there,

I am new to the forum and was wondering what you guys are seeing as far as routine pain management orders for patients with no contraindications to standard IV MSO4 or dilaudid doses?

Thanks,
ESL

these orders are indiviualized per patient ranging from 2-4 mg q 5-10 min titrate to the effect, dilaudid 0.5 q 5 min max of 2 mg, most are all titrated to the effect, demerol 12.5 - 25 mg q 5 up to 75-100 mg..these are all adult doses..children are calculated per kg..
