Cardioversions in PACU

  1. 0 Hi PACU experts-

I am trying to help my fellow PACU colleagues (I cover all education over Surgical Services) and looking to find out if there are any recommendations, guidelines, or just your current practices and policies on how long a patient should be monitored in PACU after a cardioversion.

    Thank you

The same PACU d/c criteria is used for cardioversions and ECT. Our cardioversions receive propofol and are d/c within 30min if they are stable and transported to floor with RN or d/c to ambulatory surgery unit if they are going home.

Thank you for the quick reply. I finally found some documentation and help from a textbook but your answers and experience is a great help as well.

    Thank you so much.
