UPMC Shadyside 2010 hopefuls

by kbm318

I'm hoping to get into Shadyside in either sprig 2010 or the fall. Anyone else out there already accepted or trying as well?

Yes, I am applying to Shadyside for Spring 2010. How is the process going for you?

Well, I took the PSB last Friday, but that's about as far as I've gotten since I can't send anything else in until I know if I have passed or not. However, I have started my essay and already have 2 of the 3 recommendation letters ready to mail out. Hopefully I can get it all done in time, oh well even fall of 2010 would work for me.

I'm going to apply for the fall of 2010. I will take the PSB in the spring. I took the test last spring, and passed everything but just missed the science portion by a little bit. So now Im just trying to get some more science courses done, that way when I hopefully get into a Nursing program all I will have to really worry about is the Nursing classes. Good Luck Everyone! Let me know how it goes!

I know, I hate the fact that they make you do things a bit Backwards by taking the test, and then sending everythng in...it kinda makes it hard to have a fair chance to get in earlier (like Spring) if you are taking the test late, as I assume that they fill spots as people send in all of their necessary documents. I am taking the test late (in November) because I wanted to make sure that I had enough time to prepare...I didn't decide to apply until late August. If the spaces are filled for Spring, I can wait for August.

I will be taking classes at both Pitt and CCAC in the spring to get the non-nursing classes out of the way-then applying to get in for the fall. I was told that if I start with all the non-nursing classes completed, I can finish in 18 months! Is any one else doing this?

I almost have mine all out of the way. But I think I will have to retake my anatomy and physiology and also micro because a&p weren't from the same school and my micro didn't have a lab. So I will probably try and finish them up next semester somewhere unless I get accepted for the spring then I will just have to take them where they offer it.

It's great to see a thread on here for 2010! I have been posting on the 09 thread. I took my test on Sept.26....and just got it back 2 days ago. I got 99 on math, 98 on reading, 95 on vocab, and 74 on science. I missed passing by 1 point in Science! So it looks like my chances of getting in for the Spring are gone now. I e-mailed Natalie and asked her if I could have another chance to retake it without a redemption course (I was searching the threads on here and I saw that a few other people were allowed to do that) but she said no. It's just so upsetting being so close! Good luck to the rest of you and if you have any questions about the test please let me know!

Hello! Have had all of my information in since before the end of August. Have called Natalie every few weeks, and she keeps telling me give it a few more. Has anyone else had the same thing happen? I just really want to know what is going on. Have a great day!

I wish I could say yes but I can't, I'm still waiting to hear about my test results so I can send in my stuff. Best of luck though, I'm sure you will get in. Waiting is the part that sucks the most, I would rather just know right away yes or no, but unfortunately that doesn't happen.
