HACC York Campus Part-Time Program

by AHoskin

Hello all--
I am new to this website so bear with me I have a few questions so I hope any HACC York Campus Part-Time clinical people can help me out!

I will be applying for the Part-Time clinical program at the end of this fall semester. I have to re-take two of my Science courses (A&P 1 and Microbiology) this fall semester because I only got a "C" in my A&P 2 class and they won't let me re-take it. I transferred my other courses over but wasn't comfortable going in with all "C's" for my science courses in the point system (I HATE THAT THING! ). Because they are transfers, they will let me take those. Kinda bummed about it because if they would have transferred my actual grades over, I got A's in those transfer courses, I would have 10/12 points for my science courses and would be ready to go come the end of this semester. But alas, here am I finishing just two more courses!

I was wondering what days people have classes? I read some people said they only have class two days a week, others had it four days a week? I know the class times range anywhere from 3:30pm-10:30pm, how's that work? Read somewhere that times are different for lab days and lecture days. Also how's the work load? I'm sure it's a lot but was wondering how bad I'll have to cut my hours at work. Lastly, how much time do we actually get to spend in the hospital? And I'd REALLY LOVE to work in Labor and Delivery, how do they train you for that? Would that wait until after clinicals? Sorry if some of these are stupid questions, just have so much on my mind!

I already work for Wellspan, have for a little over 3 years so hopefully that's a good "foot in the door" for me. Thanks to all who stopped in to read and hope to hear from someone soon!
