Externships In Pittsburgh

Does anyone have any info on how to apply for an externship at Pittburgh area hospitals? I've been all over the web and can't find any up-to-date info. I've even called and sent e-mails to facilities and the typical responses I've gotten are "No externships available next summer! Student nurse tech positions have been eliminated! Apply to be a nursing assistant!" I'm already a nursing assistant and that position is completely different than being a nurse extern. Another question I have is can an ADN student apply for an externship or is it only for BSNs? Thanks!
