Drexel University-ACE Program Fall '09

Yeah, I haven't met with anyone in person re financial aid yet, but I did call to ask about getting a cost of attendance paperwork thing filled out for a private scholarship I was applying to. The woman on the phone was all "Uh, as an ACE student you only get Stafford loans from Drexel." Well duh. That's why I'm applying for private scholarships! I'm waiting to get my financial aid package before trying to meet with someone.

I just got my acceptance letter today! Now I just need to make up my mind in the next 60 days as to whether Drexel's the place I wanna go. Cool beans though. I'm very excited!

I guess something to think about is how condensed you want the program to be. They do not throw anything it out it seems. I have so much "BS" work for my BSN that I rarely have time to study - lots of busy work that does not get included in your grade.

In the second semester, the one I'm ending now, I have 16 hours of class and 21 hours of clinical, then add lots of studying and homework. There are no reading days for exams. They pump you out like a factory, if you make it through.

I guess I just feel like I'm shoving lots of stuff in my head, cramming all the time for exams - often without a chance to study. Oh well, what do I expect from an 11-month program?

DREXEL SUCKS! I just got a letter stating they denied me even though my application hasn't even been completed! What a sorry joke of a school. There is a lady that has been personally helping me and even told me that it takes 4-6 weeks for results (I got them in 2)--and honestly, if they have no clue how to run their own admissions process, what else do they not know? HAHAAA!!

TCM1- Sorry to hear of your status...But, why did you apply if you believe Drexel to be a sorry joke? Would you still feel the same if you were accepted?

Pyd, I sent in my app a loooong time ago, like in October! They had problems figuring out that one of my schools changed its name over the years and they finally resolved that late last month. The letter was dated Mar. 5, so I hope you got your admissions by now!
