I applied about a month or so ago, and just found out today that I was accepted. A friend of mine was accepted on Friday, I believe. I think she applied a few months ago, though. I would say it took 2 weeks after I got the letter tha t said they received all my information and are reviewing my transcript.

Hi Jerry,

Congrats! You can take either computer science or communications or public speaking. If you are not proficient at computers, I highly suggest that you take a basic computer science course (MS Word, Excel, pp, access, etc...). I took the class on-line but I could have benefited by being in class bc it's a hands on.

You will be addicted to black board once you get to Drexel and you will rely on your PDA a lot as well as multiple computer systems at clinicals. So it's a good idea to have proficiency at navigating technology. If you are taking pre-recs at area CCs, Drexel can tell you exactly which classes to chose.

You will be fine with your July 27th deadline and yes, they do have on-campus housing that is $$$$$. You might want to check around for cost comparison. Chances are, with clinicals, you might be sent to a site not close to Drexel. Although, the 1st semester, it helps to be near campus. The second semester, not so much.

It helps to have a car, or have access to one, bc you have no control over where they send you for your clinicals.

Hope this helps!

Hope this helps!

Jerry,
I would send what I thought was the best 'fitting' elective and send the community college name, course title & # and course description to the ACE transcript evaluator. You can also ask the adviser the no later then date for the course completion... I know the date was 15JAN for the Spring Quarter which had a 30MAR start date. Yes you can get housing at drexel at Stiles Hall...
http://www.drexel.edu/housing/halls/Stiles/FAQ.asp
Fill out the form and send in and they will get you a slot - you have to wait until after your admission deposit is made and then also send in a housing deposit.. lots of people say there is 'cheaper' housing but for the 50ft away from school buildings... the ease of moving... and the lack of coordinating additional things it is worth it, IMHO, for someone moving to attend Drexel.

Hi everyone!

I will also be attending Drexel for the ACE program this fall. I'm currently taking prerequisites at Villanova, and am finishing up my last classes this semester (or at least I hope I'm done - Drexel hasnt reviewed my transcripts yet, so...). I applied to Villanova's accelerated nursing program, but wasnt accepted. I quickly applied to Drexel and Temple, and received the acceptance letter from Drexel on Valentine's Day!

Looking forward to meeting you all in September.

Beth

Congrats! Be prepared for many sleeplessness nights, eye-opening clinicals, and lots of BS on your way to a BSN!

If you take computer science at CCP, the class you want is CIS 103. Taking it this semester, and it's not bad.

hello all! I will be attending Drexel this fall as well and thought I would say hello! I've been stalking all the drexel threads for months before I knew i was accepted and so I guess I should finally come out of hiding. I have to say I'm getting a bit nervous from reading some of the bad hype on here and facebook...But I just sent in my deposit today and have decided I am going to stop worrying about the negative posts--I don't need to be stressed before the real stress even begins..

any of you know what the housing is like? or how expensive it is to park a car in philly?

Can't wait to meet everyone in the fall and to get through this program in one piece!

Congrats! You will learn a lot but realize that, even though it's the shortest program in the nation, they don't cut out any of the work, i.e. they do not streamline anything. I have so many bs papers to write even though they only count the multiple guess exams toward your grade!

Anyway, you will meet many talented and driven people in your class including ex-corporate execs, lawyers, engineers, etc....wanting to do something else with their lives - nursing!!!!!

lol...multiple guess...does feel like that on days like today.

Drexel does have on campus housing, I hear it's expensive. Parking is...depend on how far you are willing to walk. If you want convenience of parking across the street from the hospital, it will cost you. If you are willing to walk, there are cheaper ones...though usually will run you at least 6-7 dollars a day, or so I hear.
