...I would apply if I were in your shoes....as it is essentially free to apply and the application requires minimal effort as it is very cut and dry.

They look at your grades, but you need to be FINISHED your pre-req's (I think a month) before starting the classes. So, it is possible to take the sciences. CCP (if that's where you're going) has two summer semesters. You can take both A&PI and II. Those are pre-req's for microbiology. So, you'll need at least 3 semesters to complete the four pre-req's. You can probably do s1, s2, fall/spring. or fall, spring, s1 and get in.

Another vote for go ahead and apply. I was accepted into the program with 9 pre-reqs in progress, which I completed over a fall/spring/summer and finished about 3 weeks before the deadline. I submitted the application, my undergrad transcripts, and a resume. Just be sure to follow up with the admissions dept so they're clear that you plan to finish the pre-reqs in time for classes to begin. My app was actually put on hold, and I needed to have it removed for review. Also remember that you'll be dealing with the department of transfer undergrad admissions, NOT the nursing/ACE dept at this point.

If you don't have a car, you will have a tough time after your 1st quarter. Some students commute from campus and seem fine, however, I have a clinical where I need to go to the hospital the night before to prep then be there at 6am!

Hi folks,

I am a bit fatigued from mid-terms but ready to hit the ground running for the next 5 weeks of ACE 2nd quarter. My main problem is studying in "chunks that are too large" and experiencing information overload by test time. I have passed most of my exams with 76 or above but I know that I can do better if I can be more methodical with my study strategy. The HESI, on the other hand, takes practice.

I've finally discovered the DVDs that accompany most of the texts as well as the HESI website. I will be more aggressive in using these sources to prepare for the HESI's. The HESI/Evolve website was actually great in breaking down the questions that I missed. I know that I can do it!!!!!!! Yes, we can!!!!!

Have you tried the Reviews & Rationales books? They have NCLEX questions in each chapter, along with an outline of the material, and extra questions on the CD that comes with each book. All of the questions have answers with rationales, which helps me a lot.

Good luck with the rest of the quarter (and the SPE next week), we're almost there!

I applied for Fall 2009, but still haven't heard anything. I tried calling and left a message, but haven't received a phone call.

Anyone in particular I should be contacting regarding the ACE program?

Thumbs up Re: Drexel University-ACE Program Fall '09
Howdy folks,

I just got accepted provisionally to the ACE program for the Fall. Questions I have that I hope someone has experienced are...

There is a prereq listed as "computer applications/public speaking/communication elective". What exactly type of courses are we talking about for computer applications, and ESPECIALLY for communication electives??

For the august 1st deadline of having your prereqs complete... does this mean the class has to be finished by august 1st? or transcripts have to be received by drexel august 1st? The summer 2 semester at my local comm. college finishes july 27th.. so would that work?

and lastly... is there housing available for ACE students? Or does Drexel just say good luck, you're on your own finding an apartment in center city? Either way, those looking for roommates, keep my name handy..

I applied back in Dec and I just found out they are missing 2 of my transcripts.
I ordered (rush) and sent my transcripts and now I get to play the waiting game.

Anyone apply recently and get in? On the website it says there are spots available for Fall 2009.
