They won't be sending out acceptance letters until mid- to late-October.

The chances of getting into your first choice really depend on your GPA and your NET test results. They create a number out of those and rank everyone from highest to lowest.

I've applied to CCAC Nursing program for spring 2010 too.. I wish they would just send out the letters already. I'm going crazy! Good luck!

I too have applied to the Spring 2010 program at CCAC, for the Cal campus and am getting very impatient for a notification letter! lol

I have also applied or the CCAC/CUP nursing program, and I am also going crazy waiting for the letter. I would assume the letters would be here before the end of October because, Spring registration starts the beginning of November. Good Luck to you all.

I have been trying to chase this info down for the last week, I too have applied for CCAC Spring 2010.

The latest I got out of them (bear that it may not be 100% accurate)

First week of November those accepted should have their letters. There are 175 seats between Boyce and Allegheny, California seats have not been released (estimated... 40?)

I have heard from North over 600 applications, from ALG about 300 applications. The 300 sort of matches other info given over the last 10 days or so that there is about 2 to 3:1 (applicant/seat) ratio.

My information comes directly from CCAC. I was at North over the summer and got to know most of the players in the decision process. I am now down at Allegheny, I started getting friendly with them from day 1. I have to agree, you have to pry some of the info out of them, then again I have gotten creative on asking my questions. The information I posted came directly from faculty, staff or from the decision makers.

The information I got from the chair over the summer and supported by the secretary (visually seeing all those declined for the fall). Somewhere between 20-30% of all applications are disqualified due to missing or incomplete information. This includes not only the prerequisites, but missing HS transcripts, transfer credits, development tests (if any).

I have mixed reviews on the "popular" campus, early in the summer they mentioned Boyce generally is favored for spring. Early in the fall (just before cutoff) I was told Allegheny was the favored. So, I couldn't say, although my the last rumor (I can't get anyone to confirm) was 2:1 for Allegheny, which would mean 3:1 for Boyce. I did hear that eve/weekend usually fills first and that was from discussions over the summer.

All I can say is more than one told me I was competitive. My stats are previous degree (chemistry) with 3.0 GPA, CCAC GPA of 3.49, B in summer A&P1, NET score of 75 and I have all prerequisites and co-requisites completed, all that I have left are the NRN courses.

I was overly anal over my application after I saw all the rejected applications. When I asked what was the #1 reason for rejection and the answer was incomplete application I knew that was the weakness. I am surprised how secretive they can be over this, I don't get it personally. The numbers are what they are, me as an applicant cannot change it, and there is no other options for a spring entry.

I almost took A&P2 for the summer, but the teacher I had for A&P1 had the bar way too high for summer 1. In hindsight, I think I would have done well, but that would have left me spinning my wheels for 1 class for the fall.

Ironically, this is my 3rd go also, my first career I surrendered for the second which is collapsing.

I took Allegheny as my first, Boyce was second. It was "recommended" that I put a disclaimer that if I met the qualifications, I would accept any seat in any campus at any time. I was told that they usually have open seats at one or more locations because either no one selected it OR a person refused the seat/location. We will see it it means anything.
