Re: CCAC Spring 2010
I got my letter the first week of May and everything- titers, drug tests, clearances, etc- had to be turned in to the school by July 14 or else I would lose my seat. I had turned in everything on time except for my TB results, so I went to the health department and the DON told me CCAC had called and told her to excpect me to show up. Don't wait until the last minute. Save up enough money now because you'll have to pay for your titers ($60), clearances, fingerprints, drug tests, etc. (I tried to submit my titer and TB results from work to CCAC, but the school wouldn't accept them.)Once that important stuff is taken care of, then you can focus on books and uniform.
School is challenging, but I'm doing good. There are lots of readings and and we alternate between exams and quizzes every week. Clinical kind of sucks, depending on what kind of nurse you are working with. Some nurses like to teach and answer questions and others just think your a CNA for the day. Plus there's a lot of paper work to do!
