Anyone figure out the financial aid stuff? I just got the general admissions/all requirements in package with info about immunizations, etc. But, I was wondering, since we technically begin in the '08 school year, do we have to get our fafsa in this year or next year. And for next year, will that include the spring/summer semesters, or just the fall?

(I don't know if anyone has sorted that stuff out already).

I'm probably moving to Willow Grove in a few months, hopefully I'll get some nearbyish clinical assignments, but I am fearing the worst. =P

And what about books.. Should we hound the Fall 08 students for the Fall/Winter textbooks (some we'll probably need forever).

I got my financial aid stuff about a week ago. I filled out the 2008-2009 FAFSA. On the financial aid packet that I got, it looks like it's for two quarters because the tuition listed on there was only $16,000, so I'm guessing this is Spring/Summer and then we'll have to fill out the 2009-2010 FAFSA for Fall/Winter.

Hey Everyone!

Congratulations on getting accepted into Drexel for Spring 2009!

I am from Florida and so I just ended up on Drexel's website last week and saw they had some spots left for Spring 2009. Does anyone know if they still do?? I submitted my application and send my transcripts last week. The lady at admissions told me they had only received one of my many transcripts.

I was just wondering how long this whole process is? How long do you think it will be before I hear back. I am super stressing out because I wish I knew to apply earlier! I would love to go to Drexel! I have so much family up there and I am kinda sick of Florida. I just finished my bachelors and I don't think I have the 2.7 overall, but I know I have over a 3.0 for the last 60 credits and I have finished all my prerequisites. Do you think I have a good chance??

I don't know how many people have been accepted for the Spring term. There are fewer seats in the spring term (80 vs 120), as a response to the fewer applications. I'd think you have a chance if your GPA was above 3.0 for the last 60 credits and if your prerequisites had decent grades. My GPA was somewhat low, so I sent in a personal statement, too. My application was complete (I had to submit a transcript a second time since they misplaced it) in May, and I heard back in mid-July. I believed some people had gotten acceptances for the Fall 2008 in that time, so there are probably still seats left for the Spring semester.

Good luck!

Hello everyone! I just found out on Friday that I was accepted to Drexel for the Spring of 2009! I am so excited and so relieved! Just wanted to contact some of my fellow classmates so that we can get a chance to know each other before classes begin in March! Congratulations to everyone that has been accepted! If you are still considering Drexel for the Spring of 2009 the website says that they are still accepting applications, so get em' in!!

thanks for writing back. my undergraduate cumulative gpa isn't that great...changing majors and all that mess. I have been trying my best to clean my grades. I hope they can see that. I really hope they don't loose my transcript..i always have the worst luck with that. I talked to someone at the school today and they said after they receive the transcripts..it would be about 6 weeks. I really hope it doesnt take that long. I am going to be broke from applying to other nursing schools in the meantime. Do you know if they are critical about retaken classes?

Hey!

Congrats on your acceptance!!

I just started the application process last monday. I was just wondering when you started your application process? That way I have an idea on how long it will take to hear something back from Drexel. Is there anyone in particular you talked to at the nursing school that helped you with the application or someone I should be in contact with to make sure they look at my application?

Please let me know...i would really appreciate it!! I really want to start in Spring 2009. I really hope there is a seat left for me.

THANK YOU!!

My application was complete about a month after the "early decision" deadline of April 15th. My application decision took 9 weeks after they had my complete application in. I think it took "longer" as I probably wasn't a cut and dry decision. I was told it normally takes 4-6 weeks (the website says 6-8 I think). The only classes I retook were organic chemistry (because I failed the first semester) and the 3 biology courses (A&P 1 and 2, microbiology) to get them current (within 5 years).

Hello all,

I am actually a Fall 2008 ACE student, so school starts for me in a few weeks.

I applied to Drexel back in February, and after jumping through quite a FEW hoops (long stories involved) I was accepted. To be quite honest, my college grades weren't high, but I did well in the pre-reqs. That's the main thing they are looking at. If you are doing fine in the Chem, Bio, A&P, Micro, all the important classes, then you are fine.

When I was applying (and all the problems arose) I called the admissions office directly. They will put you in contact with an admissions counselor. They are helpful, though be prepared to wait for someone to answer the phone.
