Does ORIF screw fixation on femoral neck needed to be removed?

I would like to ask if ORIF screw fixations on left femoral neck are required to be extracted?

Last January 18, 2016, I had an accident that led to my left femoral neck to be fractured (closed), my orthopedic surgeon used ORIF screw fixation on L femoral neck. After the operation, the doctor told me and my parents that the fixation should be removed after a year or so. This is because, as the doctor said, I am still a teenager and that it will hinder my growth.

After roughly 2 years and 2 months, I visited another orthopedic doctor to ask if the screw must be removed as suggested by my first orthopedic surgeon. He checked my leg and found out that there was a 1 cm decrepancy than the right leg. The doctor also said that the screw must not be removed unless it causes infection or discomfort.

I would just like to ask for an advice regarding this matter. Thanks in advance and thank you for reading this far.
